Our concept on Heerenstraat 47 is created for you to be together with friends and others, while enjoying delicious dishes in a homey and casual setting. This newborn company is a collaboration across many areas. A combination of Loburg and suppliers; honest, seasonal and mostly local products on your plate with a selection of drinks and delicious dishes. For all these collaborations to be a success, we needed something very important, something which also lies at the basis of love, (which we adore!) that is chemistry. All the elements for chemistry are summarized in the periodic table and at number 47 (our house number) there is silver;).

The original construction date will always remain a mystery.
On the first maps of Wageningen, created by N. Geelkerke, it looks like a low building with a rooftop in the length. The details of the building state that it was probably built in the early to mid 1600s. Perhaps even earlier, but there is no definite evidence for this.
At the time, what now is the Heerenstraat, was then known as the Achterstraat, a much lower parallel street of the Hoogstraat which ended at Loburg on the corner. The construction of the Molenstraat ran through about where the Heerenstraat is now. The Achterstraat lays a lot deeper than the Hoogstraat and is, to make the city centre more flat, raised with sand that was won by the current Jewish cemetery area. At that time, the Rijn ran much closer to Wageningen, and there was a port where the Veerweg is now.
Houses in this area were once only constructed from wood, over time, it was better to build with stone. As a result, the building was raised. The second layer was still made by wood, a later legislation meant this had to be changed to prevent city fires. This second stone layer was made under a raised hood, and there is the same number of floors still standing now as there was then. Much later, the previous owner raise the hood slightly to create a livable attic.
The original property was not torn down, but merely transformed. In the French period, a stepped gable was outdated so it was replaced with a facade.The above works were made from natural stone and were painted so that it seemed like they were much more expensive stones.
There was a butchers shop at the front with a pigpen located at the back. The first documented resident was Samuel Marcus Jonas, a butcher and a cattle farmer, who died in 1815. The building eventually became a plumbing company, architects office and restaurant.
